Description
Thomas H. Kessler is a strategist who works at both ends of the value chain: allocating capital and creating value after the deal.
As Managing Director of KST Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG, Thomas is responsible for investments across a three-tier structure. At the top sits a fund of funds. Below it, KST invests in a portfolio of venture capital funds. The third tier completes the pyramid: direct co-investments alongside those VCs into their most promising portfolio companies. This model gives KST broad access to the venture market and a direct stake in the companies where value is built.
Thomas brings more than 30 years of international M&A experience to this role. He has personally led 47 integrations, with a cumulative transaction value above $60 billion. He advises PE Operating Partners on integrating add-on acquisitions into their portfolio companies. He also supports boards of strategic buyers as they steer the integration of add-ons on their growth path. His focus is enabling companies to move into execution and build lasting action competence.
Thomas is co-author of Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions (Wiley, 2015), a mentor at Cambridge Judge Business School, and has trained 1,700+ senior executives. He works by one conviction: after all, it's people who generate the numbers.
